Welcome to 1st Whittingham Baden-Powell Scout Group!
We are looking forward to a fun and busy term in the outdoors, exploring the world around us, and learning about the environment we live in. We will also be celebrating the Olympics and Queen's Diamond Jubilee, and the arrival of our new equipment from Awards for All, including a super black Jurte!
In August, our expedition team will be heading out to plant trees in the deforested mountains of Lesotho in Southern Africa, and we look forward to seeing Prince Seeiso again when we get there! If you would like to support us, and we still need more funds to get there, please click here to donate through Localgiving.com.
We are members of the Baden-Powell Scout Association. We love the outdoors, and sharing the beauty of our world with each other. We run a traditional scouting programme for everyone 5 years and over, and work closely with our community and scouts throughout Northumbria. Have a look at our active programme below, and find out more about the sections using the links to the left.
Remember, you only get one life - live it to the full!

Outdoor meetings require outdoor clothing - we meet whatever the weather! Waterproof jackets/trousers, sturdy shoes or boots, hats, gloves, warm jumpers! Torches for meetings after dark. Try Blacks on the easyfundraising website, which gives us a 4% donation. Order uniform from Ninette.
Thanks to Awards for All for our two grants of nearly £10,000 each, which paid for most of our camping, climbing and mountaineering equipment, as well as our folding tables which are available to all in Whittingham Memorial Institute.
